GES DONATES LIFE JACKETS TO KETA NSS

Following an appeal by the Municipal Director of National Service in the Keta Municipality, Mr Gabriel Osei Junior, for the provision of Life Jackets to be given to National Service Personnel who are rendering their service beyond the Keta Lagoon, the Keta Education Directorate has responded positively.
In a short ceremony yesterday, the Municipal Director of Education, Mr B. M. K Agbenuvor commended the NSS and it’s Director for the provision of much needed human resource deployed to deprived and hard to reach areas over the past years.


He was particularly impressed with the monitoring and supervision systems the Secretariat has employed to ensure that all Personnel are at post and working. Mr Agbenuvor also commended Service Personnel for their altruistic service to the good people of Keta and it’s environs.
He intimated that upon receiving the request from the NSS Director, he promptly resolved to ensure that the Secretariat is supplied with at least 2 sets of Life Jackets as their contribution to the good work that the Secretariat is doing. He promised to acquire more jackets to aid effective teaching and learning in those schools beyond the Lagoon.
On his part, Mr Gabriel Osei Junior thanked the Education Director for the prompt response to his appeal. The NSS Director mentioned that the contributions of Service Personnel to education cannot be overemphasized. He revealed that since his arrival in 2015,the number of Personnel deployed to the Municipality has jumped from 78 to over 250 with more than half of them deployed to support education.
The Municipal NSS Director also known as Director 1 by all Service Personnel urged other philanthropists to emulate the gesture of GES and support the Secretariat to continue in its mandate of delivering quality human resource to the good people of Keta.


The Former NASPA President, Mr James Sewonu who was present commended the NSS Director for the many initiatives he has put in place to make the Secretariat and the Municipality attractive to prospective Service Personnel. He promised that all the past Service Personnel will also mobilize some funds to support the activities of the Secretariat.
Mr Osei thanked everyone and promised to ensure that the Municipality will receive more Service Persons in the coming Service Year.
