The head of Radiological and Nuclear Unit at NADMO Head Office Accra, MR Joseph Ankrah, has called on the people of Adaklu to build with strong foundation in the future.
The foundation should be very strong because of the topography of the area, and farming activities near the mountain should also be discouraged.
It was recalled that in July, there was an “explosion” on the Adaklu Mountain destroying farmlands and other properties, but no casualties recorded.
The Volta regional Director of NADMO Divine Bosson who led the delegation to Adaklu, pleaded with the chiefs and elders in the town to advise the youth to desist from cutting down trees on the Mountain.
He advised that that” our forefathers have done it like that, so if we continue cutting down the tress on the Mountain, this will always happens to us”.
On his part, the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon Kwame Agbodza was very happy to Almighty God for no life was lost.
He said “I am very happy and grateful to God that no life was lost, even though properties were destroyed”.
He also thanked the government for making a follow up and to investigate the cause of the “explosion”
After touring the Mountain, the delegation sent pieces of the broken stones to Accra for proper investigation to ascertain the cause of the “explosion”.
