The newly installed senior divisional Chief of Awudome traditional Area Torgbui Adzesi Dzaga VI, said the Awudome traditional Area is ready to support government’s special initiative for sustainable job creation: ” our lands are ready and the labour force is ready- please we are waiting”.
He said the Awudome traditional Area needs strategic business partnership with both local and foreign investors. ” To the World, we say said we are ready for strategic business partners: ” Please come let us work and grow together and create opportunities for our youth who are hungry for jobs and decent living”.
He said, to achieve these enviable and developmental goals, they would have to collaborate and work hand in hand with the various government representatives in the region.
He said they therefore wish to elicit the support of the District Assembly, the Police Service, and other auxiliary institutions and assure them of our readiness to work with them to secure the safety and promote the well-being of their people.
Torgbui Adzesi Dzaga VI said this at the coronation service in his honour to officially welcome him into the Awudome traditional Area as the Sixth (VI) Senior Divisional Chief a fortnight ago at Awudome Traditional Council’s forecourt.
He also said that, it is about time to weigh carefully in the light of modernisation, our culture practices. This must be done together and select our cultural values that have kept us together and reject in no uncertain terms those that impede our socio-economic liberation.
Torgbui Adzesi Dzaga VI said, it is true that any society that desires progress must be a society that has total respect for Law and Order.
On education, he said it remains key ingredient in securing sustainable development of the community. “I wish to appeal to all parents and guardians to give their wards the best education available”.
This undeniably will secure, and liberate Awudome from the vicious cycle of poverty we currently find ourselves in, he said. “Let us create jobs for our people, lobby for developmental works, and promote education by setting up educational fund.
On Unity he said, it is an undeniable fact that peace and unity important in any society. There is the need to foster total unity among Awudome people and more importantly thei neighbors.
He said this can be done honest reconciliation in order to build strong bond of friendship and present one front as one people with a common destiny and fight a common Enemy “Poverty”, instead of long unending litigation and meaningless killings of innocent people.
The chairman of the occasion, Torgbui Darkey Gobo XII of Tsito, also advised the people of Awudome Traditional Area to promote peace. He urged his other chiefs to always seek advice before taking any action.
